The third quarter of 2021 saw notable trends in the performance of the top food delivery apps on the iOS platform in Costa Rica. Here’s a detailed look at the weekly downloads and active users for the top five apps, with data provided by Sensor Tower.

DiDi Food - Food Delivery experienced a significant surge in weekly downloads, starting from just 196 in mid-July and peaking at 7.7K in early August. This was followed by a gradual decline, ending the quarter with around 4K downloads. Active users also saw a substantial increase, beginning at 163 in mid-July and reaching a high of 13.9K by mid-September, before stabilizing around 13K towards the end of the quarter.

PedidosYa - Delivery App maintained a steady download rate throughout the quarter, starting from 1.6K in late June and gradually rising to 2.3K by late September. Active users showed consistent growth, beginning at 18.1K and reaching a peak of 22.7K in mid-September, before slightly decreasing to 21.9K by the end of the quarter.

Uber Eats: Food Delivery saw a relatively stable download trend, with numbers fluctuating between 1.2K to 1.7K downloads per week. Active users, however, displayed a downward trend, starting at 46K in late June and gradually decreasing to 37.8K by the end of September.

Rappi: Market and Food Online had modest download numbers, ranging from 460 to 656 downloads per week. Active users remained relatively stable, starting at 12.6K in late June and peaking at 13.2K in mid-September, before ending the quarter at around 12.6K.

Glovo: Food Delivery and more showed the lowest download numbers among the top five, fluctuating between 164 and 330 downloads weekly. Active users started at 18.3K in late June, saw a dip to 15.7K in early September, and recovered slightly to 17.5K by the end of the quarter.
